Baked Penne with Italian Sausage

This is a simple baked and hearty meal with rich tomato sauce, peppery sausage, and delicate cheese.
Servings: 5 Prep: 15 mins Cook time: 40 mins
Ingredients
1 (12 oz) penne pasta
2 teaspoons olive oil
1/2 pound mild Italian sausage
1 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup white wine
1 (12 oz) can tomato sauce
1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes with garlic
1 (6 oz) can tomato paste
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Boil a large pot of lightly salted water. Add in pasta and cook for 10 minutes; drain.
Heat oil in a large skillet. Over medium heat, cook the sausage and onion until brown. Drain excess liquid. Pour in the wine and cook for 1 minute. Stir in the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, and tomato paste. Simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add in the cooked pasta and place in any oven-safe dish. Sprinkle on top the mozzarella.
Put the dish/es in the oven and bake for 20 minutes. Enjoy!
